Ruby Wax was born on April 19, 1953 in Evanston, Illinois, USA as Ruby Wachs. She is known for her work on Ruby (1997), Ruby's American Pie (1999) and The Waiting Game (2001). She has been married to Ed Bye since May 16, 1988. They have three children. She was previously married to Trevor Walton and Andrew Porter.

Has one son, Max (b.1988) and two daughters, Madeline (b. 1990) and Marina (b. 1993). Is close friends with Roseanne Barr . Attended the wedding of Joan Collins and Percy Gibson . In the early 80s 'making-of' documentary of Supergirl (1984), the somewhat enjoyable big-budget turkey that cost a fortune to produce, Helen Slater (Kara/Supergirl) screen tests with one Ruby Wax. Was "attacked" by O.J. Simpson during his 1998 appearance on The Ruby Wax Show (1997). At the end of the episode, O.J. Simpson surprised Wax by "stabbing" her repeatedly with a banana while mimicking the theme music from Psycho (1960). Was a contestant on Ant and Dec's Gameshow Marathon, a part of ITV's 50th birthday celebrations. She shared a house with Alan Rickman in London in the early '80s.
